The Chicago Bears have fallen into a stream of mediocrity. They often seem to be on the verge of something special but just cannot seem to turn the corner. Their offence has been inconsistent and the weak spot for the team for years. The defence was unable to carry the team like it did previously and needs to bounce back this year if the Bears want to be a top team.

There is definitely a new confidence surrounding the team heading into the 2009 NFL season though as the team has finally acquired the franchise QB they have been desperate for. Chicago made a big splash in the offseason by acquiring Jay Cutler from the Denver Broncos in a move that they hope will bring new life to the team.

If Matt Forte can continue to build on his strong rookie season where he amassed over 1,200 yards, Jay Cutler can mesh with the team, and the defence can get back to their smash mouth, shut down style, this could be a very big year for the Bears. A lot still has to go right for the team, but it definitely looks like all the pieces are in place. Greg Olsen should continue to improve and there is hope that Devin Hester will continue to be an explosive deep threat for Cutler to throw to.

Lovie Smith and the rest of the team is really hoping that the team can turn the corner this year. It will definitely be an exciting year for the team as the Chicago Bears live games should prove to be exhilarating and full of intensity.
