It appears that the Brett Favre saga could once again be coming to an end, at least for one more year. Favre was seen working out and stating that his body and his should felt pretty good. Every day he seems to get a little bit closer to making a commitment to the Minnesota Vikings for the 2009-2010 NFL season.
He has told the Associated Press that he realizes that time is running out on the season and that he will give everyone an answer before trying camp this year. He knows he is 39 years old, he knows his body might not be up for it and he knows that everyone is awaiting his decision. It is definitely a tough spot for the Vikings who are waiting and hoping for Favre and are locked into the waiting game until training camp. It is even tougher for current starter Tavarius Jackson who has no idea whether or not he will be playing or watching from the sidelines this year.
There is only about two weeks until Favre has to make a decision and he is trying his best to get into shape. Reporters who watched his recent workouts have acknowledged that it appears his arm is in good shape and he has been throwing the ball deep, long and precise. However it is hard for anyone to bounce back from shoulder surgery, even when they are in the prime of their career.
One thing is for sure, if Favre decides to play it will be exciting news for the Vikings and NFL fans all around the league. Even though Favre had a disappointing year last year, if he joins the team it should instantly make them one of the favorites to make the playoffs and possibly even go far in the post season.
