Brett Favre right now has an NFL record streak of 297 starts but according to sources he will not be playing with the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night which means that his record will end. The Vikings are taking on the New York Giants, which will be played in Detroit, because the roof of the Metrodome collapsed, making it impossible to play in Minneapolis. Favre is out with a shoulder injury that he sustained last Sunday when the team faced the Buffalo Bills and has had trouble throwing the ball since then.
The Metrodome roof collapsed due to the Blizzard that Minnesota was facing, with snow leaking into the building and the roof finally crashing down. As a result the Giants and Vikings game was rescheduled to be held in the Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions Monday at 7:20 PM. The game was originally scheduled to be held on Sunday, December 12th, with game time at 1:00PM Eastern Time, but because of the severe weather conditions Minnesota was undergoing, it was rescheduled and then moved after the roof collapse.
Some are skeptical of the fact that Brett Favre will be breaking his starter record, and believe that he will continue to take his 298th start because in the past he has come back and played even with an injury, over his twenty year career in professionally football. Some even commented that he might enjoy the drama of showing up to start after declaring that he would not be playing. However, the Vikings will be testing Favre until the game to determine at kick-off if he will start of not. If not, then back up QB Tavaris Jackson will take his place.
