On Sunday, January 1^st in the last week of play for the regular season of NFL, the New Orleans Saints host the Carolina Panthers at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Last week, both Drew Brees and Cam Newton broke records, but Brees may not be on the field this coming Sunday when they go up against the Panthers at 1:00PM. However, the New Orleans Saints are already going to the playoffs. Brees' record was 307 yards and four touchdowns, breaking the 5,085 passing yard record set by Dan Marino in 1984. The Saints got their title when they beat Atlanta 45 to 16.

New Orleans is 12 and 3 right now and have the third seed spot in the NFC. They are hoping for a better position with a win over the Panthers, if the 49ers lose to St. Louis. As for the Carolina Panthers, they are currently six and nine, and they will not be heading to the playoffs for the third season in a row.
