The San Diego Chargers take on the Oakland Raiders this week at 8:20PM on Thursday, November 10^th. Denver didn't score again in the first half, but Oakland was able to take fourteen points. However, Denver came back in the second half and scored a total of 38 points to win the game. On Sunday, November 6^th, at Qualcomm, the Green Bay Packers played the Chargers with the game ending 45 to 38 in favor of Green Bay.

The Oakland Raiders are third in the AFC West right now with four wins and four losses out of the eight games that they have played. San Diego takes second on the same table, also having won four games and lost four, which is the same story for the Kansas City Chiefs who are currently leading the table. The San Diego Chargers will be involved in a very intriguing matchup as they welcome the Oakland Raiders into their home stadium, and hope to continue on a roll and pave their way to a playoff spot. The team is coming off possibly their biggest win of the season after beating up on the Indianapolis Colts while the Raiders seem to be a bit shell shocked after being dumped on by the Miami Dolphins last week. Both teams have shown they have the skill to win any game, but have had a number of disappointing ones as well, which will make it interesting to see which team can come out on top this week. The Chargers disappointed a lot of teams early on this year, but have bounced back in big fashion thanks in large part to the MVP caliber season that Philip Rivers has been having. Now that he has Vincent Jackson back in the lineup and with Ryan Matthews starting to look healthy, the team could become the class in their division this week. If the Chiefs lose and the Chargers win then they would be at the top of the AFC West, which is exciting to say the least.

This year the Oakland Raiders were not expected to be a playoff team but they have been a pleasant surprise, mainly due to the fact that Darren McFadden is starting to look like the real deal. It does not look like Jason Campbell is the answer and Bruce Gradkowski really struggled last week against Miami. Not sure where the answer lies here for the Raiders, but nevertheless they are a fun team to watch.

Oakland will have to improve their offense considerably if they want to keep going. They just had a stunning 38-0 loss against the New York Jets on Sunday. This was partly due to a fumble from JaMarcus Russell who also threw two interceptions, with six completes for eleven passes for a total of sixty one yards. In the game against San Diego Russell threw two touchdown passes, one of those to Louis Murphy, who is in his rookie season. Russell will start in the game against San Diego on Sunday, and was the number one overall pick in the 2007 draft.

The San Diego Chargers actually had a win against Oakland earlier in the season, and they will be hoping for the 13^th straight against them on Sunday. The last time that San Diego lost to Oakland was way back in 2003 and their record is 3-3 right now. They'll be hoping to move past that halfway point with a fourteenth straight.
